Over a thirteen year span I lived on the Hermosa Beach strand next to this Redondo Beach power plant. Assisted by engineering talent from Asea Brown Boveri (ABB), I developed the conceptual proposals below to eliminate the wirescape blighting the community.
In 2001 the community of Redondo Beach developed the first of many plans to develop the power plant site and surrounding area. Presently real estate developer Leo Pustilnikov's One Redondo plan calls for mixed use development including 458 affordable housing units. He proposes "Builder's Remedy" as a method to overcome objections from the Redondo Beach City Council. See NBC News interview :
